7.22 - Bon Voyage

Just as Rory lands her dream job as a political reporter, Luke enlists the help of everyone in Stars Hollow to throw her a graduation party. Emily and Richard attend the huge party, where Rory makes a speech thanking Lorelai and the whole town for giving her such a great start in life.

Luke's thoughtfulness brings out an unexpected reaction from Lorelai. Finally, on the morning that Rory leaves Stars Hollow to start her career, Luke opens the diner before dawn to share a celebratory breakfast with the Gilmore girls.

CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour makes a cameo appearance as a guest at the Dragonfly Inn.


Sorry it's a bit early. i'm just all :( about the epsiode and couldn't wait any longer haha

I've kind of been in a daze all day. I thought I had almost accepted it, but then I woke up and realized that today is also the anniversary of the day I graduated from college. :(

my mom and i have had tuesday mom daughter nights for as long as gg has been on! and this year i'm moving, and its like, the real last tuesday night for gilomre girls AGUHAFKJ

i was driving to class this morning listening to morning radio (i never do) and they mentioned how its the SERIES finale of gilmore girls. for some reason it didn't hit me until that moment. i am SO sad. like my day was so sad, plus it was so gloomy and cold. this is so weird! gilmore girls is like a part of me, or something. not to sound weird, but you know. theres so much to this show other than the story line. the humor, the growth..... AUGH. it seems so abrupt. i wish i had realized sooner, i would've definitely made this day more monumental! :( :(

I was buying Chunky Monkey Ice Cream, when the store clerk told me it was his favorite flavor.
"I've never had it before," I said. "I'm buying it specifically for the series finale of Gilmore Girls."
The clerk stared blankly and said, "Oh. Ok. (sporting that no-clue-look)"
But the person behind me in line said, "My wife and I are getting Chinese Take Out (smiley-winky-knowing look)"
"That's awesome! I think I'll do that too!" I said. "I, I, I... I get you!"

It was so cool to have that kind of inside-secret connection with a stranger in line at the store.
There is so much richness in this show.
I'm going to miss Gilmore Girls.

I wish I had that. D: None of my friends like GG. The only person I know really is my PE teacher. o_o;

I'm having a little one-person party with some of the Gilmore!food and the likes.

Got the pop-tarts, cookie dough, Red Vines, twinkies, pudding in a crystal glass bowl, Mac and Cheese, and some pizza.

Three more hours. I don't know if I want time to fly or go slow.

Lorelai went to pick up Rory at home (though we didn't see that, we only saw her pulling up with her at the Dragonfly) and Rory doesn't believe that it's really her, but Lorelai is swearing by it. Rory finally believes after she sees for herself.

SO sad...I hate this! Richard and Emily looked so upset when they realized it was their last friday night dinner...and poor Lorelai! This is so sad, but Luke is SO sweet to put this all together for Rory and Lorelai!

I am trying soo hard not to be spoiled. I can't watch it until I get home from work. *sigh* It will be the last Tues. night dinner and GG for me and my husband. That just makes me soo very sad. :( I just know I am going to cry my heart out and then some!

I actually really enjoy how the sudden party sort of mirrors the sudden series finale. Two days to plan a party, two weeks to end the series. I know they filmed it before they knew, but it still amuses me.
